Look who's thrown us a bone...
Funny and clever. The Doghouse ladies write sharp, character-driven
pieces. They are not to be missed.
As good as anything on SNL over the years and we don't mean it as a backhanded compliment--it was really good.
These ladies are twisted--fantastic, hilarious and twisted. Somebody's in the Doghouse has the ability to take what seems like it might be a pretty straightforward scene and turn it on its head. They've also successfully avoided the stereotype pitfalls that female comedians throughout history often get backed into. No predictable, two-dimensional, "boys are mean; I like chocolate; Do I look fat?" rehashes here.
It wouldn't be fair to label this as a good two-woman show, a good-two person show, a good sketch show, or anything like that. This is a GREAT show, period.
Somebody's in the Doghouse is physical, topical, surprising, and downright hysterical throughout. Leah and Marty blend their sharp dialogue with wholly original characters and outrageous physicality to create a show that is refreshingly different and very funny.
